Notes:

[9] Milius supposedly told reporters at the time, early on, that he had no use for the pastiches, but he did, as we know, use some pastiches, like "The Thing in the Crypt", and even the little known one that's never mentioned, "The Flame Knife", which story features a knife with a poisoned, wavy blade shaped like a flame. The Flame Blade is a trademark of the Cult of the Hidden Ones. Members of the Cult use the Flame Blades to assassinate important people. Included among these victims were kings of Turan, Vendhya and Iranistan. This sounds like the Fangs of the Serpent dagger, which was used much the same way, to assassinate people, even of such high rank as kings. Also, Doom commands a Cult, that sounds very much like "The Cult of the Hidden Ones". Even in the KING CONAN script, Milius again uses pastiches, like the "Conan the Liberator" story, and "The Lair of the Ice Worm".
