In the "Cinefantastique" magazine, in the credits for CONAN THE BARBARIAN, there is "Earthquake Cavegirl - Andrea Guzon." I guess Conan was screwing a girl when the earthquake happened! It is also said that Nick Allder used floor effects for the earthquake. But no answer is given as to why the scene was cut. In fact, it is not even mentioned as "cut". Very strange. I have never seen any picture from this scene, other than the "Arnold looking up in the sky" one from the DVD. There is a description in the script to go with this picture:

"CONAN (voice over)
Then, one night, the earth giants trembled beneath my feet---

His face as he gasps in ferocious awe. He looks up. The sky swirls about in winds and clouds of anger.

cut to:

The Steppe - Black sky

Endless tundra with ice and snow, clumps of dark, stunted spruce trees. Conan runs, dragging his chain, powerful yet tiring, a heavy cloak of bear skin over his shoulders. He looks behind him and listens to the callings of wolves."

So this scene fits after the earthquake, when he looks up to see the black sky. I assume ILM had to do the special effects for this shot as well. But there is no mention of them doing it in the magazine, like they did with the "red shadows clouds".
